Meet the Maker: Kate Friedler

Tell us a bit about yourself!

Small Photo
From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the beauty of color and flowers, growing up in a home bursting with vibrant hues and flowers everywhere. This early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for design and creativity. I pursued my interests academically, studying design and psychology in college, which deepened my understanding of aesthetics and human emotion.

What drew you to this particular craft or technique?

After graduating, I followed in my mother's footsteps into the world of interior design. While I enjoyed my time in that field, I was pulled into the corporate realm. I quickly realized that I missed having a creative outlet to explore my artistic side.

This led me to discover the art and craft of paper flower making. What began as a personal pastime to unwind has blossomed into a beautiful business. Each flower I create is a labor of love; I focus on the vibrancy of colors and intricate details, ensuring that every piece is unique and filled with emotion.

As my collection grew, so did my desire to share my creations with others. Today, I’m excited to offer my bespoke paper flowers. My goal is simple: to spread the joy and beauty I find in these creations, bringing a touch of beauty and cheer to any space.

What makes this kit special or unique?

This kit includes high quality Italian and German crepe paper along with all the supplies (except scissors) to create your own set of paper poppies. I have carefully selected a range of colors I feel everyone will love!

Do you have any tips or tricks for crafters using this kit?

Check out my Instagram for various tips and other techniques to expand your knowledge of the paper flower craft! Once you get the hang of things, there is so much artistic license you can take, such as color!

If you could be anywhere creating this kit, where would it be?

Just at home in my studio :)
